Debbie Strayer

In Loving Memory of Debbie Strayer (1955-2013)

Strayer FamilyThe family of Debbie Strayer are grateful for the many kind words and stories of inspiration shared across the country. Her sudden death has left a crater-sized hole in many of our hearts. Debbie lived with purpose. Always the visionary, she was never at a standstill, but was ever looking ahead with more ideas and more plans - all in service to God and to the homeschooling community whom she loved. Debbie encouraged many countless thousands and a connection with her, whether through her ministry or in personal relationships, was formed at the heart level, which is a rare gift.

Debbie held strong beliefs and vision about Biblical home education, sustained by her relationship with the Lord and nearly 20 years mentoring from her dear friend, Ruth Beechick. She was a pioneer who helped blaze the way for the homeschooling movement and served continuously for nearly 30 years through Homeschooling Today magazine, authoring curricula and articles, encouraging workshop presentations-even much more, behind the scenes than space would allow. In all, her philosophy of education and her sound perception on how children learn, remained steadfast. Her philosophy of education has brought joy, encouragement, and freedom to many a home school experience. Many whose lives have been changed by her ministry have asked what they can do to help, how they can give back. We are committed to continue her work. If you would like to contribute financially to that effort, your donation will be warmly appreciated and will be used to that effect.
