Inspirational professional surfer Bethany Hamilton (the subject of the feature Soul Surfer) will join returning cast members Harry Connick, Jr., Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman, Academy Award® nominee Kris Kristofferson, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Ashley Judd, Nathan Gamble, Cozi Zuehlsdorff, and of course Winter, the dolphin. Dolphin Tale 2 tells another true story inspired by the rescue of a new baby dolphin named Hope, who was saved and rehabilitated by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
Some interesting facts about the movie and its cast include:
- The two children, who play homeschooled children in the movie, are actually Christian homeschoolers in real life!
- The CEO (David Yates) of the aquarium that hosts Winter is a Christian and it was because of his vision that the story was made into a movie.
- The aquarium has even set up a webcam to make Winter available to online viewers at any time.
