Our mission is to come alongside parents and support them in:
Setting aside comparisons. Taking control of their children’s education. Choosing courage over fear. Letting God lead and homeschooling boldly.
Ashley Wiggers grew up in the early days of the homeschooling movement. She was taught by her late mother, Debbie Strayer, who was an educator, speaker, and the author of numerous homeschooling materials. It was through Debbie’s encouragement and love that Ashley learned the value of being homeschooled. Currently, Ashley and her husband Alex are the publishers of Homeschooling Today magazine. Ashley is the Co-Executive Editor and a contributing columnist along with one of the hosts of their podcast, Homeschool Boldly. Husband and wife team, Alex and Ashley are busy raising and homeschooling their three children while running the family business together.
Homeschool Boldly Podcast
A short weekly message that will encourage your heart, make you laugh, and leave you emboldened for the week ahead. Hosted by Ashley Wiggers, Kay Chance, and Connie Albers.
Created by real people with a passion for honesty and encouragement. You won’t find articles telling you everything you’re not doing. Instead, you’ll find homeschooling parents who have walked where you are or are currently on the path and want to help you succeed.
Homeschooling is a faith journey like no other. What does it mean to homeschool boldly? Does it mean you know exactly what you’re doing? Not at all! It means you have learned to be confident in the One who called you to this crazy and amazing role. Come hear Ashley (a homeschool graduate now homeschooling mom) share her experiences and encourage your heart in what really matters so you can homeschool with boldness.
Moving from Checklists to Meaningful Learning
Homeschooling offers the possibility to educate in a way that is lasting and meaningful. We don’t have to see it as a list of tasks to be completed. We can see it as the opportunity it is to learn through meaningful discussions, experiences and deep understanding. Come listen as this homeschool graduate, now homeschooling mom, shares about her unique view of education given through the meaningful approach her family took to homeschooling.
Homeschooling’s Greatest Enemy
Is homeschooling’s greatest enemy the government, socialization, common core, standardized testing, or maybe skeptical family members and friends? No. The greatest enemy of homeschooling that all parents have to contend with is fear. Don’t let fear steal from your family’s ability to enjoy and thrive in this homeschooling journey. Come and be encouraged as Ashley shares strategies for recognizing and eliminating fear from your homeschool! This homeschool graduate, now homeschooling mom, and daughter of homeschooling pioneers Debbie and Greg Strayer will calm your fears and leave you with a sense of hope.
You Can’t Teach Your Child Everything
There is not enough time in the day, or days in the year to teach your child everything they need to know. There will be gaps. Why this means we can all take a deep breath and realize there is no perfect homeschooling formula to cover it all. So, if you can’t do everything, what can you do? Come to this workshop to learn about lasting principles that will change your homeschool and relieve you from the stress of perfection.
